Chandigarh: Two students from the Tricity secured a perfect 100 percentile in Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) 2026, placing them among the top rankers in the country.Aarush Singhal of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, Chandigarh, secured All India Rank (AIR) 8. Arnav Gandhi of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, secured AIR 22 and is among the top performers from Haryana. Both candidates credited consistent preparation, conceptual clarity and regular analysis of mock tests for their performance.Aarush followed a strategy of studying in shorter, focused sessions with breaks, instead of long, continuous hours. He devoted around 6 to 8 hours daily to self-study alongside classes and discussions. He has also cleared multiple stages of national-level Olympiads in mathematics, physics, chemistry and astronomy. He said his focus now is on JEE Advanced and securing admission to the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay for computer science engineering.Arnav Gandhi, who scored 295 out of 300, emphasised the importance of analysing mistakes and improving weak areas through regular testing. He has qualified examinations such as IOQM, RMO and national standard tests in physics and chemistry. He also aims to pursue computer science engineering at a premier IIT.Parents of both students said disciplined study routines and clarity of goals played a key role in their achievement.
