Lucknow: Two school students were killed and another was critically injured after their motorcycle collided head-on with a UPSRTC bus on the Tanda-Banda highway near Inayatpur in Lucknow’s Gosainganj late on Wednesday.The deceased were identified as Sameer, 19, and Faizan, 14, from Katka Khanpur. The injured student, Aman, 15, who was seated at the rear of the motorcycle, was admitted to Sultanpur Medical College . According to eyewitnesses, the motorcycle was driven by Sameer, who was not wearing a helmet. The three students were travelling from Inayatpur side when the bus, heading towards Akbarpur, rammed into the bike near Inayatpur. The impact of the collision was severe, throwing the riders onto the road. Sameer died on the spot, while Faizan succumbed to injuries while being taken to the medical college. Aman sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital. Following the accident, the bus driver allegedly fled the spot with the vehicle. Villagers shifted the damaged motorcycle to a safe place to prevent further obstruction to traffic. Family members of the deceased said the three students were enrolled at Ramrati Inter College, Dwarikaganj. Sameer was a class 10 student, Faizan studied in class 8, while Aman was a class 9 student.

Gosainganj SHO Ram Ashish Upadhyay said information about the accident was received and legal action was being initiated. Efforts were underway to identify and trace the absconding bus driver.
