Jharsuguda: Two elderly men were killed and one was critically injured after the car in which they were travelling lost control and rammed into a tree in Laikera block of Jharsuguda district on Monday.Police said Sushil Patel, 72, of Sahaspur, Pramodini Choudhury, 80, of Bandhapali village near Sahaspur, and Kuber Choudhury, 63, who drove the car, went to attend a wedding at Laida in Sambalpur district. On Monday afternoon, while returning, the car lost balance at Dhuka Chowk in Laikera and crashed into a tree.All three injured occupants were rushed to the Mundrajore community health centre. Pramodini was declared dead on arrival, while the others were referred to Jharsuguda district headquarters hospital. Doctors at the DHH later declared Sushil dead. As Kuber’s condition was critical, he was shifted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar for advanced treatment. Police are trying to ascertain their familial relationships. IIC of Laikera police station, Krushnachandra Meher, stated that post-mortem examinations will be conducted on Tuesday, after which their bodies will be handed over to their families.
