Mohali: The CIA Staff, Kharar, arrested two alleged shooters and operatives of the Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu Najafgarh gang and seized two Zigana pistols and ammunition from them.The accused have been identified as Aniket Chikara of Gopalpur village in Sonipat and Ishaan of HUDA Colony in Panipat.Police claimed that seven cases, including those involving murder, robbery and Arms Act violations, were registered against the duo in Haryana and adjoining areas. The two were allegedly associated with the Nandu Najafgarh gang and involved in criminal activities in the region.A case was registered at City Kharar police station on Sept 23 under Section 111 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 25 of the Arms Act.The arrests were made by the CIA Staff, Kharar, on the directions of Mohali SSP Varun Sharma as part of the police drive against organised crime.Inspector Pardeep Singh Bajwa, in-charge of CIA Staff, Kharar, said the accused had been taken into custody for questioning. Police said their remand could lead to further disclosures about their alleged criminal activities, associates and the source of the weapons.Further investigation is underway to ascertain their alleged involvement in cases registered against them in Haryana and adjoining areas.
