Hyderabad: In a crackdown on drug networks, Malkajgiri police have arrested two men at Nagole Crossroads and seized 25.65 grams of MDMA, exposing a suspected interstate supply chain linked to Himachal Pradesh. The operation was carried out by the Special Operations Team (SOT) along with Nagole police. Acting on specific information, officers intercepted two suspects — Junaid Raza Siddiqui, 36, and Sunil Subba alias Johny, 29 —travelling on two scooters at Nagole X Road on Wednesday. A search conducted led to the recovery of MDMA packets concealed in the vehicle compartments. The contraband, packed in polythene covers inside a black bag, was weighed and confirmed as 25.65 grams.Police also seized three mobile phones, 5,190 cash, two scooters and a weighing machine, with the total value of the seized property estimated at 3.61 lakh. A case was registered under the NDPS Act at the Nagole police station.Investigations revealed that the two accused, who were earlier associated with running a restaurant in Bandlaguda, allegedly turned to drug peddling to make quick money. They were reportedly acting as local distributors, sourcing MDMA through a contact identified as Mohammed Ansari and another individual, Raju.According to police, the suppliers were believed to have procured the drug from Himachal Pradesh and routed it to Hyderabad for distribution. Both Ansari and Raju are currently absconding, and efforts were underway to trace and apprehend them. The arrested individuals were later remanded in judicial custody. Further investigation was on to identify other links in the network and track potential consumers.
