Lucknow: The UP Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on Saturday arrested two alleged “digital propagandists” linked to the Chhangur Baba’s religious conversion syndicate. The duo was detained during coordinated raids in Balrampur’s Utraula area, further tightening the probe into the alleged multi-layered conversion racket involving indoctrination, funding and conversion activities.Sabroz alias Imran alias Buddhu (42) and Shahabuddin (36) — both residents of Rehramafi village of Balrampur — were wanted in a case registered at ATS police station of Lucknow under IPC Sections 121A, 417, 420, 153A and Sections 3/5(1)/5(2)/5(3)/8(1) of the UP Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021.The ATS said the duo was previously chargesheeted by Azamgarh Police in a separate illegal religious conversion case. After obtaining relief in that matter, they allegedly migrated into the fold of Chhangur Baba’s wider network, taking on non-field yet influential organisational roles. TNN
