Guwahati: Two Kuki-Zo women were killed while working at their farms and several farmhouses were set ablaze on Tuesday at Leisang Kuki village in Manipur’s Tamenglong district. A senior police official said the women were attacked around 3 pm while they were working at their farms.

The deceased were identified as Chonga Sitlhou and Kimboi Singson. Singson had recently completed her nursing studies and was helping her family at their farm when the attack occurred.

Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), the apex body of Kukis, condemned the “unprovoked attack” and killing of villagers, alleging that NSCN-IM and ZUF (Kamson) were responsible.
