Lucknow: Two men were killed after an oxygen cylinder-laden pickup vehicle crashed into a road divider near Sheikhpura toll plaza in the Nigohan area of Lucknow on Friday afternoon, police said.The accident occurred at around 4.30 pm, when the pickup vehicle rammed into the divider. The front portion of the vehicle was badly damaged, trapping the driver and his helper inside the cabin.The deceased were identified as Indradev Patel (43) and Ramesh (46).On receiving information, the station house officer of Nigohan police station, the in-charge of the local police outpost and other personnel rushed to the spot.With the assistance of local residents, police personnel extricated the two men from the damaged vehicle and rushed them to Community Health Centre (CHC) in Mohanlalganj for treatment. However, doctors declared both men dead on arrival.Police said the necessary legal formalities, including the preparation of inquest reports, were underway.
