Varanasi: Two persons have been arrested here for allegedly enticing underprivileged families to convert to Christianity with promises of financial benefits.Jansa police station in-charge Anil Kumar Sharma stated that the accused conducted gatherings aimed at persuading economically disadvantaged families to adopt Christianity. The accused were arrested late Friday in connection with a case registered under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021. Earlier on Jan 24, a Parmandapur village resident was arrested in the Jansa police station area. On Feb 26, another accused from Deoband was nabbed in Saharanpur. Based on their confessions, cops laid a trap and arrested the duo on Friday night.
