Times News NetworkKanpur: Police arrested two criminals in connection with robbery and vehicle theft incidents and recovered Rs 24,000 cash, two motorcycles and a ‘mangalsutra’ from their possession. Chakeri police nabbed the accused during a checking drive on Thursday afternoon from Ahirwan Chowki area, about 400 metres from the Airport Cut. ACP Cantt Amit Chaurasia said the accused were identified as Kundan Patel alias Arjun Bhadaiya (22), resident of Aung area in Fatehpur district and Krishan alias Aadesh (19), resident of Sai village under Kalyanpur area. Both confessed to their involvement in multiple robbery and bike theft incidents in Kanpur.On May 23, bike-borne criminals snatched a ‘mangalsutra’ from a woman in Raipurwa area. A motorbike was stolen from the Chakeri area on May 20. Police identified the accused with the help of CCTV footage from 150 CCTV cameras before nabbing them. Police said they were tracing the network and to whom the stolen goods were sold.Kundan Patel had multiple serious cases registered against him at various police stations in Fatehpur and Kanpur, including under the Arms Act and Gangster Act, along with theft and robbery cases. Krishan alias Aadesh’s name has also surfaced in several criminal cases.
