Ludhiana: A clash broke out between two groups outside Machhiwara police station on Wednesday, leaving around five persons injured. The police have booked one group members for attempt to murder and the rival party for causing voluntarily hurt. Meanwhile, a video of the incident has also surfaced.DSP Samrala Tarlochan Singh said there was dispute between Nihang Ravinder Singh of Araq Bhattiyan with the rival party of the same village over servant Nirbhay Singh. He added that on Tuesday evening, Ravinder and Nihang Amanjot Singh had attacked the other group and injured Nirbhay Singh.The police officer said that on Wednesday, when members of both groups reached police station to lodge complaints against, the Nihangs allegedly drew ‘kirpan’ and attacked members of the rival group. He added that in the fight, Parminder Singh, Kamaljit Singh and Tejinder Singh of one group were injured.Local sources said one of the victims had a ‘kirpan’ mark on his neck and if it had hit him harder, he could have faced risk to life. They added that during the clash, Ravinder and Amanjot also suffered injuries after being attacked with small ‘kirpans’.The DSP said the police had booked Ravinder and Amanjot for attempt to murder and arrested them. He added that the cops also recovered an air gun from their vehicle. He said a cross case had been registered into the matter and the rival group had been booked for voluntarily causing hurt.Meanwhile, the DSP said that no element involved in hooliganism would be spared.As one of the groups had also lodged allegations of drug trafficking against the arrested, the DSP said that they would get dope tests of the arrested accused done.
