Hisar: A court in Fatehabad has sentenced two men to rigorous life imprisonment for the murder of a gym operator in Bhattu area of the district. The judgment was delivered by the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Tarun Singal, which also imposed a fine of Rs 1.10 lakh on each of the convicts. Four co-accused in the case were acquitted due to lack of evidence.The convicted have been identified as Vijaypal alias Tada and Pushkar alias Khali, residents of Ramsara village in Bhattu area. They were found guilty of murdering Ashok Kumar, a gym operator from Dhani Dhabi Kalan village. According to the prosecution, the accused were allegedly involved in liquor trade and had shot Ashok Kumar dead on June 19, 2019.During the hearing, district attorney Devender Mittal argued that the two accused jointly carried out the murder and urged the court to award the strictest punishment.Before sentencing, both convicts pleaded for leniency, stating that they belonged to poor families and had family responsibilities. However, the court rejected their plea, considering the gravity of the offence, and ordered that they be sent to Central Jail-II, Hisar, to serve their sentence.
