Prayagraj: Pratapgarh police on Sunday arrested Ram Singh (50) and Ashok Kumar Vishwakarma ( 36), residents of Kanupur village, on charges of creating obstacles and blocking traffic after a road accident and attacking and assaulting policemen.Police said following the death of a person in a road accident near Kanupur road under the limits of Jethwara police station on Jul 31, an unruly mob comprising villagers and antisocial elements placed the body on Pratapgarh- Lalgopalgnaj road and blocked the vehicular movement for hours. When police tried to pacify the mob, a group of miscreants attacked and assaulted policemen and obstructed govt work.FIR under relevant sections was registered. Police arrested two of the prime accused who were planning to escape. Police said Ram Singh has five cases pending against him in different police stations.
