Kanpur: Two workers died and another suffered serious burn injuries after a grill they were installing came into contact with an overhead high-tension power line at Balaji Apartment in Keshavpuram under the Rawatpur police station area of Kanpur on Saturday.The deceased were identified as Abhishek Pal (25) and his uncle, Mithlesh alias Chhotu (40). The injured worker, Rizwan, was admitted to a private hospital in critical condition.Police said the three men, who undertook aluminium and grill installation work, had gone to a flat to install a grill. While taking measurements and moving the structure upwards, a part of it touched the high-tension power line passing over the apartment building. The grill became live, causing severe burn injuries to all three workers.Rawatpur police reached the spot and found Abhishek and Mithlesh dead. Their bodies were sent for post-mortem examination and their families were informed.Rawatpur station in-charge Kamlesh Rai said police are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the position of the power line, and will take further action based on the outcome of the investigation.
