Calangute: Two persons died in a collision between two scooters on the Calangute-Baga road early Sunday morning. Both the vehicles had pillion riders. One person died on the spot, while another succumbed to his injuries later in the day. All were employed in hotels.Anil Ughrejiya (25), a Candolim resident and native of Gujarat, died on the spot around 6am. Arun Gudachi (28), a Guirim resident and native of Rajasthan, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he later died, Calangute police said.Two more injured persons have been admitted to GMC for treatment.“The impact of the collision was severe, resulting in fatal injuries to two and serious injuries to two others,” Calangute police said, adding that preliminary inquiries suggest speed and loss of control may have caused the crash.Police have registered a case of accidental death, and further investigation is under way.
