T’puram: Kattakada police on Wednesday recorded the arrest of two history-sheeters involved in multiple criminal cases, including theft and attempt to murder.The accused have been identified as Krishnaprasad (22) and Vishnu (23), both natives of Kattakada and facing charges under Section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) and booked under Kaapa.According to police, the incident occurred around 4pm on Tuesday at Manaluvilagam. The accused allegedly trespassed into the house premises of Nijam, a native of Killi Kunthani, and attempted to steal iron pipes kept on the terrace.The theft was noticed by Nijam’s wife, who raised an alarm on seeing the men. As locals rushed to the spot, the accused tried to abandon the stolen items and flee. However, residents intervened in time, detained the duo and alerted police.Police soon reached the spot and took the accused into custody. The stolen iron pipes were recovered from the premises.Police said the accused are involved in multiple cases registered at Malayinkeezhu and Vilappilsala police stations. The accused may have entered the premises to evade detection, said police, adding that further details would emerge after the investigation is completed.The accused were later produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.
