Mangaluru: Bantwal Town police arrested two persons in connection with an alleged cattle slaughter case in an operation conducted in Sajipamooda village of Bantwal taluk.Based on information received Wednesday night regarding illegal cattle slaughter, Bantwal Town police sub-inspector Sandeep Kumar Shetty and his team raided a location at Panjaje.During the inspection, police found meat being cut in a shed behind a house. The police team immediately conducted a raid and detained two persons identified as Mustafa,33, and Mohammed Sadiq,30, residents of Bantwal.During questioning, it was confirmed that the accused were allegedly carrying out the activity without obtaining the required licence or permission. Police said one animal had already been slaughtered, and meat was found cut and stored at the site. Apart from this, six heads of cattle, a car and equipment used for the illegal activity were also seized from the spot. The accused have been taken into custody. A case has been registered at Bantwal Town police station.
