Kolkata: A 19-year-old woman, who was being stalked by some youths for several weeks, was allegedly stopped on Monday night while she was returning home with her male friend in Parnasree in Behala. The accused allegedly passed indecent comments, forcing the duo to stop their bike. As soon as she protested, the woman was allegedly molested, while her male friend was assaulted.Police said the complainant alleged that she was harassed for a considerable period by a group of local youths. In her complaint, she said that the accused repeatedly followed her on several occasions, passed obscene comments and gestures, and also touched her inappropriately.The woman alleged that the harassment escalated on the evening of March 8, when she was with a male friend near the Parnasree area around 7.40 pm. The named accused and others allegedly approached them, made abusive and obscene remarks, and threatened them with dire consequences. When the male friend protested, he was allegedly assaulted.Three persons were named in the FIR. Others remained unidentified.
