Hyderabad: A 19-year-old engineering student from a private university in Patancheru has been missing since Wednesday.Her parents lodged a missing person complaint with the police on Thursday. According to officials, the student, who stays in the university hostel, obtained permission to leave the campus on Wednesday but did not return.When her parents were unable to contact her by phone, they visited the university to inquire about her whereabouts. They found that she had signed the exit register before leaving the campus. After searching for her for nearly a day without success, they approached the Patancheru police and registered a case.Patancheru police told TOI that the student is still missing and search teams are trying to locate her.“Prima facie, it appears that she may be deliberately staying out of contact,” officials said. However, the investigation is ongoing, and police are continuing efforts to trace her.
