Jamshedpur: A 19-year-old student Neelmani Gorai was found dead in her room at a govt-run women’s hostel under Sakchi police station on Tuesday. Gorai, a resident of Nimdih in Seraikela-Kharsawan, had arrived in March for computer coaching.Police said she allegedly hanged herself on Monday night.Before the incident, she messaged her brother: “I couldn’t become the kind of sister you wanted me to be. Please forgive me, but don’t let him go.” When calls went unanswered Tuesday morning, her brother reached the hostel and informed the warden. She was found hanging from the ceiling fan. MGM doctors declared her dead and a case has been registered.
