Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GujCET), an important gateway for admissions to degree engineering and pharmacy courses, will be conducted across the state on March 29. In Ahmedabad district, 18,106 students are set to appear for the examination, with extensive arrangements made to ensure its smooth and secure conduct.In Ahmedabad city, 11,754 students have registered for the test. This includes 6,463 boys and 5,291 girls. Group-wise, 6,523 candidates will appear under Group A, 5,177 under Group B, and 54 under Group AB. The majority of the candidates — 8,720 — are from English medium, followed by 2,512 from Gujarati medium and 522 from Hindi medium. The exam will be held across 59 buildings comprising 590 exam blocks.In rural Ahmedabad, 6,352 students have registered. Of these, 3,553 are boys and 2,799 are girls. The group distribution includes 3,363 students in Group A, 2,980 in Group B, and 9 in Group AB. Medium-wise registrations include 3,097 from Gujarati medium, 3,146 from English medium, and 109 from Hindi medium. Rural centres will operate across 30 buildings with 320 blocks.Overall, English medium candidates form the largest group with 11,866 registrations, followed by 5,609 in Gujarati and 631 in Hindi medium. Authorities have completed preparations, including deployment of invigilators, security arrangements, and logistical planning. Students have been advised to reach their respective centres well before time with all required documents.
