T’puram: Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, city police on Monday detained 188 habitual offenders during a special drive titled ‘Operation Dark Hunt’. Police teams conducted coordinated checks and surveillance across city limits targeting individuals with a history of criminal activities. Officials said the drive was aimed at ensuring public safety, preventing crime and maintaining law and order in the run-up to assembly elections scheduled next month.
