Kanpur: An 18-year-old NEET aspirant from Rath town in Hamirpur district died during treatment after allegedly consuming a poisonous substance at her home on Saturday. Family members claimed she had been under mental stress after failing to secure the marks she had expected in the recently declared NEET-UG results.The deceased, a resident of Mohalla Diwanpura in Rath, had been preparing for the NEET for a long time. According to her family, when her condition deteriorated, she was taken to a hospital in Rath, where doctors provided first aid before referring her to the Government Medical College in Jalaun.Orai Kotwali Inspector Anand Singh said, “We are probing the family’s claims that the deceased had been under mental stress after the NEET results.”
