Times News NetworkKanpur: An 18-year-old girl died by suicide after she allegedly hanged herself in Babupurwa Colony in the city during the wee hours of Saturday.According to police, Ashish Kumar Mishra, a resident of Babupurwa Colony, said he found his only daughter hanging from a noose in the veranda at around 3 in the morning. He said she had returned from Gonda on Friday.Mishra, who works in a private job, said his daughter was a BA first-year student. She went to Gonda on Friday to appear for an ITI exam and returned late in the evening. They had dinner together, after which she used her mobile for some time and then went to her room, saying she was going to sleep, Mishra said.Inspector Babupurwa police station Neeraj Ojha said the family could not clearly state the reason of the suicide. He said the young woman’s mobile was seized and was being investigated.Mishra said that his wife died sometime after the birth of their daughter.
