Kanpur: An 18-month-old girl drowned after falling into a steel water tank while playing at her house in Beri village on Friday evening.Police said her mother had gone outside to milk the cow and complete other household chores when the incident occurred when the child reached the tank, lost her balance and fell into it. The child, Kallo, was pulled out by her family and rushed to the Community Health Centre in Kurara, where doctors declared her dead.Kallo was the daughter of village resident Kishan Nishad. Kurara station house officer Prince Dixit said the family had filled the tank with water to bathe her.
