Kanpur: A rape case involving a 17-year-old minor girl came to light in the Sikandra police station area of Kanpur Dehat district, after the victim’s mother submitted a written complaint, police said.Based on the complaint, police registered a case against the named accused under the Pocso Act and other relevant sections.The mother, a resident of the Sikandra police station area, alleged that a youth from the village, Sunil Kushwaha, lured and took away her 17-year-old minor daughter, and then raped her.The complaint also stated that another youth from the same village, Vishal, was involved alongside Sunil in the incident.Taking cognisance of the matter, Sikandra police station in-charge Janardan Pratap Singh ordered immediate action. He said, “A case has been registered on the basis of the mother’s written complaint. The victim has been sent for medical examination. The matter is being investigated thoroughly.”“Legal action will be taken based on whatever facts emerge during the investigation. Police teams are conducting raids for the arrest of the accused and they will be arrested soon,” he further said.
