Udaipur: A 17-year-old Class XII student died by suicide after allegedly jumping from the roof of a four-storey under-construction building in Bhinder town of Udaipur district Tuesday. Police recovered a handwritten note from the spot, but said the reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.According to police, the girl left school around 2 pm and rode her scooty to an under-construction building in Sukhsagar Complex, Sukh Vihar Colony, instead of returning home. She allegedly told labourers at the site that her ball had fallen on the roof and used the pretext to gain access to the top floor.Police said she wrote a note in a diary before jumping from the roof. The note reportedly read, “I love you Papa-Mummy,” and stated that her parents were innocent.Locals alerted the police, following which Bhinder SHO Mukesh Chandra Khatik and his team reached the spot. The girl was taken to Bhinder Govt Hospital and later referred to a hospital in Udaipur due to the severity of her injuries. She died during treatment.Police have registered a case, seized the note and launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the incident.
