Ludhiana: The district’s healthcare infrastructure received a significant boost on Saturday as seventeen new Aam Aadmi Clinics were officially handed over to the residents of Ludhiana. Civil surgeon Dr Ramandeep Kaur stated that this expansion aligns with the Punjab Government’s mission to provide quality and free primary healthcare services. While the Chief Minister inaugurated the clinics from Fatehgarh Sahib, the Ludhiana event was conducted virtually.According to the health department, this initiative brings the total number of Aam Aadmi Clinics in the district to 109, marking a major milestone in the local health sector. Dr Kaur noted that these clinics have been strategically established in areas including New Model Town, Amloh Road Khanna, Kakowal, Balloki, Bhamian Kalan, Dad, and Dharmshala Parjapat Shehbazpura Road Ward No. 9 Raikot. Other locations include Daba Lohara, Jandiali, Ashok Nagar Salem Tabri, Guru Arjun Dev Nagar near Banda Bahadur Gurudwara, and Kapil Park Ward No. 64.Facilities are also now operational at the DC Office, Old PWD Building, Indra Colony at Veterinary Hospital Barewal Road, Tikoni Building Community Centre Zone D, Raman Market behind Laxmi Cinema, Lohara village opposite Sports Park, and Purani Dana Mandi Jagraon. This distribution ensures easy medical access for both urban and rural populations. The Civil Surgeon credited the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister and Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh for this delivery of high-quality services to every citizen.The health department emphasized that these clinics will offer free OPD services, essential medicines, and diagnostic tests. By providing basic facilities closer to residents’ homes, the initiative aims to reduce the patient burden on higher-level healthcare institutions. The virtual inauguration was attended by local MLAs, senior health officials, and various dignitaries. Concluding the announcement, the Civil Surgeon appealed to residents to fully utilize these free services to help build a healthier society.
