Kanpur: A 16-year-old girl of Varanasi was allegedly gang-raped by three youths in Bithoor area of Kanpur on Wednesday morning. Police have taken one accused into custody, while two others were absconding.Three youths allegedly gangraped the girl at a house in Mandhana. A tenant living in the same house found a girl lying in a room downstairs and informed police.The girl, a resident of Varanasi, told police that she was going to her uncle’s place and lost her way. Bithoor police reached the spot and sent the girl for medical examination. A case was lodged on the basis of her complaint.DCP West SM Qasim Abidi said,”One youth has been taken into custody and is being interrogated. Efforts are underway to arrest the other two accused.” tnn
