Ludhiana: Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy for raping a neighbouring 15-year-old girl. The accused and the girl live in the same accomodation with their respective families.The FIR has been lodged on the complaint of the mother of the minor girl against the minor accused.The woman, in her complaint, stated that her minor daughter told them that on March 21 night, when the family was asleep, she woke up to go to the washroom. Meanwhile, the accused, who also lives in the same labour quarter, followed her to the washroom, where he raped her. The accused allegedly also threatened her to keep mum.The investigating officer in the case said that they have registered a case under Sections 64 (rape), 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 8 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The police have arrested the accused.
