Kanpur: A 16-year-old Class VI student died shortly after a quack allegedly administered an injection at his shop in Gram Biraudhi under Bharthana police station area of Etawah on Saturday evening, prompting her family and villagers to stage a protest outside the premises.Radha had been suffering from fever for three days. Her father, Indresh Kumar, said she visited the village shop for medicine after getting some relief from the fever.He alleged that the quack administered the injection without examining Radha, despite her repeated refusal. Foam began coming from her mouth and she died within about 10 minutes, the family alleged.Her parents and other villagers reached the shop after being informed that her condition had worsened. The accused allegedly locked the shop and fled before they arrived.Family members and villagers placed Radha’s body outside the shop and staged a protest, demanding action against the accused.Bharthana police reached the spot, recorded details from the family and took the body into custody.SHO Vikram Singh said strict legal action would be taken against the accused after police received a written complaint from the family.
