Kanpur: Police arrested the accused in murder of a 15-year-old boy and sent him to jail on Tuesday. During interrogation, the accused revealed that he was in a love affair with the boy’s sister, who is his niece. Fearing the exposure of this relationship, he killed the boy.The body was found lying near a minor canal beside a field on Saturday. He had been strangled to death with the drawstring of his lower garment. Near the crime scene, the teenager’s bicycle was found parked with a lock on its stand. After the post-mortem, the family performed his last rites at Moosanagar Ghat on Sunday evening.DCP (South) Deependra Nath Chaudhary said that the youth’s father had filed a case suspecting two villagers. During the investigation, police examined the call details and CDR of family members and suspects. The investigation revealed that the accused had frequent conversations with the number registered at the deceased’s home. On Monday, police took accused into custody and interrogated him after which he confessed.Police said on Saturday, the accused picked the boy and threw him onto the ground in a field. He then climbed onto his chest and began strangling him with his hands. He later pulled out the drawstring from his lower garment and tightened it around his neck, killing him. The boy was nephew of the accused.
