Prayagraj: In a befitting honour to a distinguished military career spanning nearly three and a half decades, 15 UP Battalion NCC, Prayagraj, on Monday organised a ceremonial retirement visit of Group Commander Brig Upendra Singh Kandil.The programme was conducted by Col Ritu Srivastava Rawat, Commanding Officer, 15 UP Battalion NCC, to honour his exemplary service and invaluable contribution to the NCC fraternity.Brig Upendra Singh Kandil was commissioned into the Indian Army in June 1991 and has completed nearly 35 years of dedicated service to the nation. Throughout his career, he has upheld the highest traditions of military service, leadership, discipline and commitment.During his tenure as Group Commander, his visionary guidance, personal involvement and constant motivation provided a significant impetus to the functioning and achievements of 15 UP Battalion NCC and the wider NCC fraternity in Prayagraj. His leadership and encouragement played an important role in strengthening NCC activities, enhancing cadet participation and nurturing a culture of excellence, discipline and achievement.During the interaction, he shared his experiences and valuable words of wisdom with the cadets, encouraging them to remain committed to the core values of discipline, leadership, integrity, courage, patriotism and selfless service.He encouraged cadets to make the most of their NCC experience and become responsible, disciplined and confident citizens capable of contributing meaningfully to the nation.
