Dhubri: The colours of democracy shone bright in Dhurbi on Monday, with 15 candidates filing nominations for the five constituencies of the district, inclduing those form Congress, BJP, AIUDF and AGP.BJP candidate Uttam Prasad took out a massive procession from the Senpara Point, with nearly 15,000 party BJP and AGP workers walking down a 1.5-km stretch through Guru Teg Bahadur Road to reach the DC’s office for the nomination filing.Similarly, first-time Congress candidate Baby Begum led a huge rally of supporter and party workers and handed over her nomination paper to the returning official. Two-time legislator and sitting MLA from Dhubri, AIUDF’s Nazrul Haque also submitted his paper.Other candidates in the fray are BJP’s Ashwani Roy Sarkar from Golokganj; Congress legislator Wazed Ali Choudhury from Birsing Jarua; AGP’s Jibesh Ray from Bilasipara; AIUDF’s sitting Golokganj MLA Sobhan Ali Sarkar from Gauripur; AGP’s Mehtabul Haque from Gauripur; and Congress’s Amrit Badsah from Bilasipara.
