Hyderabad: A 14-year-old boy died after falling from the third floor of a residential building at Mallapur in Nacharam.The incident occurred on April 5 at around 3 pm, but only came to light on Tuesday after a video of it went viral. While some reports claimed the boy fell while filming a reel, Nacharam ASI B Venkataiah said the boy, who was in class 9, fell while playing. A nearby CCTV camera captured the fall. “He sustained severe rib and brain injuries, as well as a pelvic fracture. He was initially taken to a private hospital in Secunderabad. He was later transferred to two other hospitals before dying of cardiac arrest on the night of April 18,” said the ASI.Police said that the boy lived in the building with his parents. His father is a retired private employee and his mother is a housewife.A case has been registered and a further investigation is underway. The boy’s body was taken to the Gandhi mortuary for a post-mortem examination and was later handed over to his family.
