Itanagar: Police recovered 14 stolen two-wheelers during a 20-day anti-theft drive in the Itanagar Capital Region and neighbouring Papum Pare district, and apprehended four minors, police said on Friday.Capital SP Jummar Basar said the drive was launched after a theft case was registered at the Itanagar police station under Section 305(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Police apprehended four children in conflict with the law, aged between 10 and 14 years, following legal protocols. The vehicles, including the scooter stolen in the case, were recovered based on disclosures made by the minors, Basar said.As the registration, engine and chassis numbers of several recovered two-wheelers appear to have been tampered with, police are conducting field verification to ascertain ownership. The vehicles will be handed over to the rightful owners after completion of due legal procedures, Basar added.The operation was carried out by a specialised team from the Itanagar police station under the direct supervision of the SDPO, Itanagar.
