Gandhinagar: Gujarat govt has constituted 13 functional committees to oversee key operational, logistical, protocol, security, exhibition, business networking and publicity-related arrangements for the 11th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) to be held in Jan 2027. Several heads of state, leading businessmen and officials of various govts are expected to attend the biennial business and networking summit.The Venue, Event and Access Management Committee, headed by Rajkumar Beniwal, managing director, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company Ltd, will oversee venue preparation, dais and seating arrangements, access management and arrangements for the inaugural and valedictory functions, besides theme and country seminars, a govt resolution (GR) issued by the industries and mines department said.The Exhibition Committee, headed by Hareet Shukla, principal secretary in the general administration department, will be responsible for planning, coordinating and managing the exhibition at the Helipad Exhibition Centre (HEC).A Gifting, Souvenir, Global Crafts Showcase and GIFT City Event Committee, headed by Mohammad Shahid, principal secretary, cottage & rural industries, has been tasked with selection and management of gifts and souvenirs, organising the Global Craft Showcase and coordinating events GIFT City. The Documentation Committee, also headed by Shahid, will coordinate videography and photography, deploy rapporteurs and maintain the visitors’ book.The Food and Beverages Committee will be headed by Jenu Devan, secretary (expenditure), with Dilip Kumar Rana, commissioner of higher education, as co-chair. The Law and Order and Security Committee, headed by DGP G S Malik, will plan and implement security arrangements at venues in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar and along access routes, besides making parking arrangements for different categories of invitees.The Protocol, Transportation and Accommodation and Excursion/Exposure Visits Committee is being headed by Kuldeep Arya, secretary, tourism, the GR said.The Seminars Committee, headed by Avantika Singh Aulakh, managing director of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd, will plan and coordinate country and state seminars, including those related to MoUs. It will also coordinate with the Centre, other states, Indian missions abroad and foreign missions in India.The B2B/B2G Meetings Committee, headed by Milind Torawane, principal secretary, primary and secondary education, will coordinate with Govt of India and other state govt departments for business-to-govt meetings.The One-to-One Meetings Committee, headed by Sanjeev Kumar, principal secretary to the chief minister, will plan, schedule and profile such meetings, including those with the Prime Minister and the chief minister.The Media Committee, headed by Rahul Gupta, secretary, sports, youth and cultural activities department, with Dr Vikrant Pandey, additional principal secretary to the chief minister, as co-chair, will handle all media and promotional activities.The Airport Facility Committee, headed by Lochan Sehra, secretary, labour, skill development and employment, will make arrangements at Ahmedabad and Vadodara international airports for welcoming and facilitating dignitaries. The Traffic & Parking Committee will plan parking arrangements for different categories of invitees and identify routes; it will be headed by the ADG (law & order), with the home secretary as co-chair.Govt has also assigned responsibility for planning, coordination and management of MoU-related activities to a separate committee headed by Ashwani Kumar, principal secretary, environment & climate change department. The resolution allows the respective committee heads to co-opt additional officers or members as required.
