Ahmedabad: A total of 13 female students at IIT Gandhinagar (IIT-Gn) became the first recipients of the Rupa Rahul Bajaj Scholarship by Bajaj Auto Foundation. The scholarship aims to support and promote women in engineering.IIT-Gn officials said that the scholarship offers financial assistance along with opportunities for mentorship, industry exposure, professional development, leadership development, wellbeing support and alumni engagement. Institute officials added that they have made a conscious effort to create greater opportunities for women in technical fields, including engineering.By pairing financial aid with comprehensive career resources, the initiative seeks to ease economic barriers and encourage talented female scholars to pursue advanced technical innovation.The institute emphasized that long-term industry-academic partnerships play a crucial role in closing the gender gap across STEM disciplines. Through targeted programs and structured leadership workshops, these selected scholars will gain direct access to seasoned corporate mentors, helping build a strong, sustainable pipeline of future leaders in technology.
