Hyderabad: Twelve persons sustained injuries when a mini van carrying passengers from Amrabad to Champet rammed into a roadside tree near Mamnoor in Nagarkurnool district on Tuesday evening. According to Amrabad police, the incident occurred at 4.30 pm when the vehicle, carrying 13 passengers, lost control and rammed into the tree near Aner Darga.“The vehicle overturned after colliding with the tree, and 12 people, including the driver, N Paramesh Goud, sustained injuries,” Amrabad SI P Hanmanth Reddy said. According to Amrabad CI S Chandraiah, among the injured, K Maremma (63), a resident of Venkateshwarabavi village, sustained multiple injuries, while Naveen (16), an intermediate student from BK Laxmapur, suffered a spinal injury.“Both are still undergoing treatment but are out of danger. The remaining injured persons were treated as outpatients at the Achampet govt hospital and discharged,” the CI said. Based on a complaint lodged by Maremma’s son, Srinivas, police registered a case against the driver under Sections 125(a) (causing hurt by an act endangering life or personal safety of others), 281 (rash driving) of the BNS and 194-A of the MV Act.
