Thiruvananthapuram: An 11-year-old boy suffered grievous injuries after a stray dog attacked him while he was playing with his younger sister in the courtyard of his house at Nagaroor on Saturday evening. The dog bit off nearly half of the ring finger on his right hand.The boy, Sharan, son of Raju and Anju of Mottiluvila, was rushed to SAT Hospital. He also suffered a deep injury to his left thigh.Locals said the dog had also attacked domestic animals in the locality. They said complaints regarding stray dog attacks had been raised with the authorities earlier, but no effective action had been taken to address the issue.Following the latest incident, veterinary officials have been conducting an inspection in the area to trace the dog and assess the situation.
