Bengaluru: Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths arrested 11 men for allegedly running an interstate honey trap and robbery racket that lured victims by promising to arrange women for sexual services.Police cracked the case within 24 hours of receiving a complaint from a 36-year-old private company employee from Whitefield, who was allegedly robbed of cash and mobile phone near HBR Layout on July 16 evening.According to police, the victim came across an advertisement titled ‘Independent Girls in Bangalore’ on Locanto app and contacted the numbers listed in the advertisement. Following instructions from the suspects, he reached a location near HBR Layout, where one of the accused met him and showed him two women seated inside an autorickshaw. The suspects then negotiated the amount for providing sexual services.As the victim agreed to the deal, one of the accused allegedly snatched his mobile phone and wallet containing around Rs 2,000. Before he could react or raise the alarm, the accused fled the spot, police said.During investigation, CCB officers unearthed what they described as an interstate racket operating in and around HBR Layout area. According to police, the gang allegedly trafficked women from outside Karnataka, advertised them to attract customers and called prospective clients to designated locations, where they were allegedly robbed.Police seized two autorickshaws, four two-wheelers, 13 mobile phones and cash believed to have been used in the offences.
