Patna: In a major crackdown on corruption within the police force, Kosi range DIG Kumar Ashish on Friday suspended 10 sub-inspectors (SIs) from Saharsa, Madhepura and Supaul districts. The officers are accused of influencing police cases and investigations through brokers.Sharing the information, the DIG said, “Departmental proceedings have been initiated against all suspended policemen. Police have also arrested a key broker linked to the case.”The entire case of corruption and brokerage is linked to Salkhua police station area in Saharsa district. A few days ago, a video went viral on social media that showed police investigations being influenced for money.After the video surfaced, the DIG immediately ordered an inquiry. The probe team nabbed the man seen in the video.During a search, police recovered a laptop and several incrimating files related to police investigations from the broker’s possession.Preliminary findings revealed that the suspended sub-inspectors were in contact with the broker and allegedly used deployed him to manipulate cases and probes.
