Panaji: Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) will induct 10 new diesel buses into its fleet within the next few days, with additional procurements planned, KTC Chairman Ulhas Tuyekar said on Monday.“Ten diesel-powered buses have gone for RTO registration. They will be added in the next one to three days,” Tuyekar said.He added that KTC expects to procure around 100 more buses in the future through a mix of diesel and electric vehicles, depending on government approvals and funding.Addressing concerns over recent videos of KTC buses being driven recklessly, Tuyekar said the corporation takes disciplinary action whenever violations are established.“Whenever such cases come to our notice, we take action. Drivers can be suspended if they are found guilty,” he said.He further said KTC carries out regular inspections and checking of buses and staff to ensure compliance with operational and safety standards. He also said the corporation conducts routine internal checks to detect violations and takes action wherever required.
