Kanpur: A person was killed and another seriously injured after falling from a moving tractor in Kayamganj police station area of Farrukhabad late on Saturday.The incident occurred between Mai Hadidadpur and Jyona when three villagers—Mukesh (40), Anek (22) and Phool Singh (37), residents of Nagla Kumhari village— were returning on a tractor after depositing potatoes at Kayamganj Cold Storage. Mukesh and Anek fell from the moving tractor, police said.
Family members rushed both to a community health centre, where doctors declared Mukesh brought dead. Due to critical condition, Anek was referred to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.Police said two bottles of country liquor were recovered from the injured man’s pocket, raising suspicion that the accident may have occurred under the influence of alcohol. The tractor driver fled the scene after the incident. The body has been sent for postmortem.
