Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited has secured the rights to broadcast, stream and distribute a portfolio of 39 football tournaments organised by Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) in India for the period from 2026 to 2034, the company said in a regulatory filing on Monday.

“We wish to inform you that the Company has been awarded the rights to broadcast, stream and distribute a wide portfolio of 39 FIFA competitions in India from 2026 to 2034, including the FIFA World Cup 2026™, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ and the FIFA World Cup 2030,” Zee Entertainment said in its exchange filing.

The package includes marquee events such as the FIFA World Cup 2026, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 and the FIFA World Cup 2030, along with a range of men’s, women’s and youth competitions, including U-17 and U-20 World Cups, Futsal World Cups and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

Under the agreement, Zee will deliver coverage across its linear television sports channels and its digital platform ZEE5, offering multi-language broadcasts for Indian audiences. The deal also includes rights to documentary content linked to FIFA competitions.

The company said the agreement is effective from 2026 and spans nine years, covering all 39 FIFA events scheduled during the period. While the overall consideration involves a multi-year, multi-tournament rights fee, the specific financial terms were not disclosed, citing commercial sensitivity.

Zee clarified that FIFA is an independent international entity and that the transaction does not fall under related-party norms, with no interest held by the company’s promoters or promoter group in the football governing body.
