Addressing a party workshop at Amaravati, Reddy said there were allegations in different states that large-scale voter deletions influenced election results. Referring to recently concluded West Bengal and Tamil Nadu polls, he said that nearly 91 lakh votes, amounting to 11.9% of the electorate, were removed in West Bengal, while around 74 lakh votes, or 11.6% of total votes, were deleted in Tamil Nadu.

Reddy said in Bhabanipur, where Mamata Banerjee contested, 44,990 votes were removed and she lost by a margin of 15,105 votes. Similarly, in Tamil Nadu, around 71,133 votes were allegedly deleted in the constituency contested by MK Stalin, where the defeat margin was only around 8,000 votes.
Reddy further claimed that while 91 lakh votes were removed in West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress lost the state by just 31 lakh votes. Similarly, in Tamil Nadu, 74 lakh votes were deleted while Stalin’s party lost by around 17 lakh votes. He said these examples showed why parties must remain alert on the SIR process. This is the first time that Reddy, who has been quietly supporting BJP-led NDA inside and outside Parliament, has come out against SIR.

He warned that even if 50 genuine votes were removed in every village, it could result in the loss of nearly 5,000 votes at the constituency level. At the same time, he said that the party must focus on identifying TDP-linked “bogus votes“. Citing Kuppam as an example, he claimed there were nearly 22,000 suspicious votes in the rolls, with the same names appearing multiple times. He said in many cases the father’s name or husband’s name was also identical, raising serious doubts over duplicate and fake entries. “This is the real mystery behind Babu’s history,” he remarked, asking party cadres to carefully scrutinise voter lists and remain alert against fraudulent votes.
