Chennai: Madras high court on Wednesday granted bail to YouTuber Savukku Shankar in an attempt-to-murder case booked against him while he was imprisoned in Puzhal.Vacation judge Justice L Victoria Gowri passed the order while allowing a plea moved by Shankar. According to the plea, an FIR was registered against Shankar and four others on April 8 under Sections 296(b), 125 , 132, 109(1), and 351(3) of the BNS. Shankar was arrested in another case in Andhra Pradesh and was brought to Chennai by road. The police vehicle was stopped near Kavankarai for a break, when K Malathi, S Gopinath, Praveen and Raju picked up a quarrel with the police personnel, abused them and began pelting stones at them, the prosecution said.
