Bengaluru: An 18-year-old girl sustained grievous injuries after she was allegedly stabbed multiple times by her former schoolmate inside her house at Ramagondanahalli in Whitefield Thursday morning. The accused allegedly attempted to harm himself after the attack.The injured, identified as Nandini Das, 18, is currently undergoing treatment in the emergency ward of a private hospital. The accused, Bande Nawaz, 18, has been admitted to another private hospital with injuries to his neck.According to police, both the victim and the accused studied together at a private school in Nallurahalli and had known each other for the past three years.The incident took place at Chinnatayappa Building in Ramagondanahalli, where the injured was staying with her family. Police said the accused entered the house and attacked Nandini with a knife around 9.30am, inflicting grievous injuries to her neck, hands, palms, ribs, and thighs. After the assault, he allegedly turned the weapon on himself and inflicted injuries to his neck.Nandini’s father, Yadav Das, 40, from Siliguri in West Bengal and currently residing in Ramagondanahalli, has lodged a complaint with police.Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the motive behind the attack. An officer said: “Nawaz and Nandini were in love during their school days. Later, they separated. Nawaz has been working as a cab driver.”A case was registered under Section 109 (attempt to murder) of the BNS at Varthur police station, and the investigation is in progress.
