T’puram: A 29-year-old youth was killed in an accident after a speeding car rammed the motorcycle on which he was riding pillion at Kallambalam on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as Nithin B A of Navaikulam.According to police, the incident occurred around 10.15pm on Kilimanoor–Madavoor road. The car, which was reportedly at high speed, lost control while negotiating a curve. It first crashed into an electric post, before veering into the motorcycle. The impact caused the bike getting trapped under the car, which then plunged down a slope. Police said, Nithin sustained critical injuries and succumbed soon after. The bike rider, Ananthu Vikraman (29) of Kizhakkanela, was injured and admitted to a private hospital in Venjaramoodu. Two youths travelling in the car, natives of Panappamkunnu, sustained minor injuries. They were also taken to the same hospital and were given first aid before being discharged. However, locals alleged that two other occupants in the car fled the scene after the accident.Pallickal police registered a case and began probe. TNN
