Kanpur: A 20-year-old youth allegedly died by suicide by hanging after being scolded by his father on Sunday night. The incident took place in Dharhara village under the Bidhnu police station area.The deceased’s father told police that he had scolded his son over some household and farm work. Upset over the reprimand, the youth left home and did not return throughout the night.The family presumed that he might have gone to a relative’s place. However, on Monday night when the father went to an old dilapidated house behind their residence for some work, he allegedly found his son hanging there.Police reached the spot after receiving information and brought the body down from the noose before calling the forensic team to collect evidence.Station in charge T.B. Singh said that further action would be taken based on the post-mortem report.
